Why we built a company around one type of hedge project
The typical South Florida landscape buyer has to work through a market where everyone does everything. Tree trimming, pavers, fences, general landscaping, and hedges all live under one roof at most companies. That breadth is useful in some ways, but it rarely produces a great hedge.
Mr. Clusia was built the other direction. We picked the project we believe adds the most value to a South Florida yard, the privacy hedge, and committed the whole company to doing it well. That single focus is what lets us run a nursery, train a dedicated install crew, and stand behind every line we plant.
The yards we are built for
If you own a home in South Florida and you want a clean, dense, healthy privacy hedge along one or more edges of your property, we are built for your project. We work with single-family homeowners, gated-community residents, estate owners, and small commercial property owners. The common thread is a desire to make the yard feel more private, more finished, and more valuable without over-complicating the project.
The yards we honestly are not built for
We are not a general landscaper. We do not do paver work, irrigation system overhauls, lawn-care contracts, or full-yard redesigns. If your project needs a lot of non-hedge work bundled in, you usually want a different kind of company leading the job, and we will be happy to work alongside them on the hedge portion.
Our approach to plants
Every Clusia and Podocarpus we install is nursery-grown. The benefit of that is consistency. We see the plants come up, we know how they have been watered, and we can grade starter sizes across a single install so the finished hedge reads uniform from end to end. Big-box suppliers cannot do that. They cannot know what plant you are going to buy a week before you buy it.
Our approach to people
Mr. Clusia is small enough that a homeowner who calls us rarely bounces through five departments. The person who picks up the phone can usually give a straight answer on scheduling and scope. The foreman who runs your install is the same one we put on similar projects last month. There is no layer between us and the hedge in your yard, and that is the way we prefer it.
